Chaco is an okay kind of book if you are new to the genre of science fiction. The writing is sound and the characters quite well developed. You do have to shelve the believability though and while some actions are critical to the story, they did feel a little padded or inconsistent with the reality of the situation/5(18).   The pop-up book Ancient Dwellings is especially fun to read if your family has been to some of the places in it.
